By allowing students to actively contribute to social challenges and strengthening their civic awareness, Academie van de Stad gives them a key role in the development of the city. At the same time, students can explore their place in the world by applying their brainpower to urban issues. Students use the city as a training ground for development, by working on themes such as participation, sustainability and mobility. In our session, we would like to introduce teachers and students to the mission of Academie van de Stad and the way in which we stimulate and guide students. Together with Bachelors Director Prof. Vincent Buskens (Sociology), we want to offer inspiration from a concrete case: Warme Wijken (Warm Neighbourhoods).
