'De Verbinding' ('The Connection') refers not only to connectedness, the counterpart of loneliness, but also to the connection between different courses and between science and practice.
In this session, we look at how we can build a bridge between education and social issues. With the Connection project, first-year psychology students tackle a social theme: loneliness. During their project, students design a psychological intervention for a target group that is faced with loneliness. In this way, they explore their role as psychologists in a social issue.
After the pitch about the core of the project, there is room for questions and finally the participants brainstorm in groups about how they themselves could implement the link with practice in their study programme/course and which social issue touches upon their specific study programme/course.
